Heritage Pacific Arts Fono
In association with Pasifika Festival 2010, Creative New Zealand hosts an open forum to discuss the health of heritage arts in Pacific communities in New Zealand and methods of assisting these.
Date: Friday 12 March 2010
Time: 10am – 4pm
Venue: Reception Lounge (level 2), Auckland Town Hall (301 Queen Street), The Edge
Entry: Free!! With lunch and refreshments provided
The one day fono will include:
· Introduction of Creative New Zealand’s Heritage arts strategy (10am)
· Feedback on Creative New Zealand’s research into the Health of Pacific Heritage Arts (10.30am)
· Open forum of discussion on key issues and barriers for Heritage Arts (11.30am)
· Artist talks and discussions on their practice (12.30pm)
· Practical guide to applying for Creative New Zealand funding for Heritage Arts projects (2pm)
· One on One session with Creative New Zealand’s Senior Programme Adviser, Pacific Arts (3pm – 4pm)
Guest speakers include: Herman Piíkea Clark (Massey University), Ole Maiava (Pasifika Festival Director), Taha Fasi, Iosefa Enari (Pacific Dance Project), Matafetu Smith
